PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana 2024
Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has launched the Rooftop Solar Scheme for Free Electricity in the State. This Scheme was launched on 13 February 2024 to Provide 300 Units Free Electricity to the 1 Crore Eligible Households of the Country. The primary objective of the Assam Solar Rooftop Scheme is to promote the use of solar rooftops in residential households as a source of electricity that will help save electricity bills and earn additional income through the sale of surplus power to APDCL.
The PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana aims to encourage the use of Clean Energy by installing solar panels on household Rooftops. The government of India intends to provide up to 300 units of free electricity to light one-crore households.
Objectives of PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana

- Under the Scheme Subsidy of Rs. 30,000 for 1 kW System, Rs. 60,000 for 2 kW System and Rs. 78,000 for 3 kW System.
- Households will apply from the PM Surya Ghar Portal, This Portal Aids the Household Regarding Calculators and vendor Ratings.
- Households will be able to access the collateral-free low-interest loan products of Around 7% at present for the Installation of Solar rooftop systems up to 3 kW.
